The claim that Indian PM Modi was gifted with a necklace by an Arab king is FALSE. He was conferred with a medal of honour called 'Order of Zayed', UAEs highest civilian award in 2019.

When we searched using the keywords Modi in Arab countries, we found several articles sharing the same image of the prince honoring the PM.

According to the article published in economic times, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan conferred UAE's highest civilian award 'Order of Zayed' on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The award, which is named after Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE, acquires special significance as it is being awarded to Modi in the birth centenary year of Sheikh Zayed.

According to the article published in India Today published in August 2019, the award has earlier been bestowed on several world leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Queen Elizabeth II and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

"The award in the name of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE, acquires special significance as it was awarded to Prime Minister Modi in the year of the birth centenary of Sheikh Zayed," Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement ahead of his visit.
