Polls for all the 288 constituencies in Maharashtra and a few others in Jharkhand will be held on Nov. 20. The BJP-led Mahayuti coalition is striving to retain power while the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance is vying to dethrone the Mahayuti and clinch power. Polling began at 7am and will continue till 6 pm. Dry day will be observed in Mumbai and other cities across the state on the election day.
Meanwhile, a video showing a huge crowd across in an open ground is in circulation with the claim that large number of people had gathered for the MVA rally at BKC stadium in Mumbai. The video is being shared with the caption “𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐕𝐀 𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐁𝐊𝐂
Fact Check:
The claim that the viral video is a drone shot of MVA rally at BKC in Mumbai is False. Firstly, when we searched for the visuals of the MVA rally at BKC in Mumbai, we found an X post sharing them, which do not match with those in the viral video.
When we extracted the keyframes from the video and searched them using Google reverse image search, we found that the drone video is not related to the MVA rally. It shows the gathering for the trailer release of Pushpa 2: The Rule in Patna, Bihar. Telugupost found an article published in Indian Express, which shared the screenshot of the viral video. The article states that the event turned into a massive fan frenzy as thousands gathered at the Gandhi Maidan to catch a glimpse of the stars of the movie.
We also found a video published on Zee Telugu News with the title ‘Huge Crowd at Pushpa 2: The Rule Trailer launch event’. In this video, we can see people climbing onto a high-rise structure similar to the one seen in the viral video.
According to an article on India Today, the trailer launch took place at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. The organisers sold passes to the event but a huge crowd turned out which went berserk. The police had a tough time controlling the crowd.
ANI reports that security personnel wielded their batons to control the crowd, which gathered to catch a glimpse of film stars Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna.
Another ANI video shows people climbing on to structures erected at the event.
India Today also debunked the video and stated the claim as False. Therefore, the viral video does not show the gathering at MVA rally in BKC, Mumbai, it is relating to the trailer launch of film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. The claim is False.
