Yatra 2 movie

The movie ‘Yatra-2’ based on the life of former Chief Minister YS Rajashekar Reddy and his son YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is the current Chief Minister of AP, was released on February 8, 2024. Directed by Mahi V Raghav, it is sequel to the 2019 biopic ‘Yatra’.

After the release of the movie, a GO, which seems to be issued by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, is in wide circulation on social media. The alleged GO encourages government employees to watch the movie and even encourage others to watch it.

The GO is shared along with the comment in Telugu: “GO చూడండి..

When translated, it claims: “Look at the GO, what a pity that the government itself is making movies and even asking IAS and IPS officers to mandatorily watch and also encourage general public to watch it. For this purpose, it even is giving half day leave to the employees. And making it mandatory for Anganwadi and other government employees to watch the movie Yatra-2. “

The GO itself has instructions to the government officials of different levels on how to promote the movie ‘Yatra-2’ and how to make agreements with the theatre owners so that each village/ ward volunteer is allotted 10 tickets for each show.
