Fact Check: Gramin Udyamita Vikas Nigam website advertising about government job vacancies is FALSE
Gramin Udyamita Vikas Nigam website advertising about government job vacancies is FALSE
A website, allegedly affiliated to the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, claims to offer government jobs and seeks a non-refundable registration fee. The site named Gramin Udyamita Vikas Nigam advertises availability of over 2 lakh government job vacancies.
Claiming to have positions open in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh, the website sets an application deadline of October 9, 2023, and states that salaries range from Rs 17,500 to Rs 21,500 per month.
FACT CHECK:
Firstly, the webpage is not interlinked to the official website of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. All affiliated government websites lead back to the main webpage of its ministry. The website does not carry the Indian emblem on its page, which is compulsorily found on all official government websites. The website’s footer also doesn't mention its affiliation to the ministry and department.
All these point to the fact that the website is fraudulent and not related to the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
The Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check also exposed this as a scam. Through a press release, it stated that the aforesaid website is fake and fraudulent and is not related to the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
It also stated that further action will be taken “against the fake website in coordination with cybercrime and the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team. Measures will be taken for blocking the fake website and taking appropriate steps against the website’s owner.”
