After the news of the takeover broke out, a screenshot claiming to be a statement by former American President Donald Trump on the acquisition of Twitter was widely shared on various social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook.
The statement on the "Save America" letterhead of Donald Trump dated October 27, 2022 reads "Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America
Congratulations to Elon Musk on his purchase of Twitter. Many people are saying that change was needed, as the old management was too concerned with the woke agenda. I have been told that my account will be back up and running on Monday – we will see. Happy to be able to engage with an African-American owned business."
Fact check:
Former US president Donald Trump did not make any such statement. The claim is FALSE.
When we searched Trump's official website, we did not find any record of such a statement. Trump's statements are released on his website and the last statement, at the time of writing this, was released on October 26 about a rally in Ohio.

The same clarification was carried out by several other news websites like India Today, abplive, etc.
Hence, the viral image is a hoax and former US President Donald Trump did not make any statement after Elon Musk took over Twitter. The claim is FALSE.
