The claim that the incident seen in the viral video was taken near Kuntala waterfalls in Telangana and occurred in July 2022 is FALSE.

When the keyframes extracted from the video are searched using Google Reverse image search, we found that the video is an old one and is from 2011 and this incident occurred in a waterfall in Patalapani near Indore.

According to a report in the Times of India, on July 17, 2011, three members of a family washed away in a sudden flow of water in Patalpani while they were on a pleasure excursion.

India Today reports that the family was visiting the weekend getaway for the first time for a picnic. Five members of the family were standing beneath the 300 feet high falls when they were caught unaware as the water flow increased suddenly. They got trapped in the middle of the swirling waters. One of them slipped into the water, leading to the others' fall in the strong current.

According to an NDTV report published on July 18, 2011, the family members were taking bath under the waterfall when they have swept away due to heavy rains. While two of them swam to safety, the other three drowned, P S Maravi, in charge of Bargauda police station said. We can also see the video of the incident shared in this report.
