A few images comparing an old Kannada movie titled Ugramm to a soon-to-be-released Bollywood movie “Salaar” which features Prabhas and others, are being shared on social media.

The images compare the poses of the heroes on the posters of Ugramm and Salaar. Social media posts are claiming that the Ugramm movie has been removed from YouTube. Some users also shared posts that the Kannada movie Ugramm has been removed from OTT platforms.

An X (Twitter) user shared the images with the caption “#Ugram removed from #Youtube. #Salaar as an ugramm remake? According to reports, #PrashanthNeel's 2014 action movie Ugramm has been abruptly removed from YouTube. This has become a hot topic because there have been rumors since the beginning of #Salaar that Neel is redoing his own film with minor tweaks to the script & #Prabhas in the lead part. Though Neel officially declared Salaar is a new story during his media interactions around the time of #KGF 2's release, the similarities in the first-look posters & the story's setting kept these rumors alive all these days. They now have more substance, as Ugramm was taken from YouTube the day after Hombale Films officially announced the release of Salaar. “

Fact Check:

The claim is False. The Kannada movie Ugramm has not been removed from any of the media platforms.

Upon searching, we found a report published by www.businesstoday.in stating that Prashanth Neel has clarified that ‘Salaar’ starring Prabhas, is not a remake of the directorial debut ‘Ugramm’. However, he has said that all of his movies will have the same shades of ‘Ugramm’ as that was his style.


When we searched for reports on “Ugramm movie on OTT”, we found that the movie is available on the OTT platform named VOOT. A website named justwatch.com states that currently, Ugramm movie is streaming on Voot.

When searching on IMDb, we can see that the movie is available on Voot.

When searched on Jio Cinema, we found that the movie is streaming on Jio Cinema in Kannada language. Here is the screenshot of the movie.

Ugramm movie is also streaming on Zee 5 in Hindi language. The movie is named Main Hoon Fighter Baadshah in Hindi.

The movie is also available on a YouTube channel named SRS Media Vision I Kannada Full Movies. The full movie was published on YouTube in November 2014. The title of the video is “Ugram – ಉಗ್ರಂ|| Kannada Full HD Movie || Sri Murali || Haripriya|| Action Movie ||”

Therefore, the claim that the Kannada movie, Ugramm, has been removed from OTT platforms and also YouTube in favour of Salaar movie is FALSE. The movie is still streaming on OTT and social media platforms.
