BRS MLC Kavitha
The year 2024 has been challenging for Kavitha, BRS leader and daughter of Former Telangana Chief Minister KCR. Facing the allegations related to the Delhi Liquor policy case, her prominence within the party was reduced during the Assembly elections held in December 2023. She was sidelined within the party. But after her release from jail, she started emerging as a star and brand ambassador of the BRS. The party is now portraying her as a fighter. MLC Kavita, along with other MLCs, staged a protest at the Telangana Legislative Council on Wednesday, 26 March, highlighting the Congress government’s failure to deliver on its promise to provide 10 grams of gold to eligible women for their marriages. The protest featured symbolic gold bricks inscribed with “10 Grams Gold” in Telugu, Hindi, and English, drawing attention to the Congress-led government’s pre-poll promise. The BRS MLCs criticised the Congress for misleading the public and failing to uphold its promises, claiming that the failure has broken the hopes of many women and families.
Meanwhile, a Telugu newspaper clipping showing the pictures of MLC Kavitha and her brother former minister of Telangana is in circulation on social media. The text on the newspaper clipping is “మా అన్నే నా పాలిట విలన్..!
The Telugu news clipping claims that Kavita had made remarks that her brother is the villain in her story. The sub headlines claim that she fired on KTR in media chit chat and said ‘KTR intentionally keeps her away from party activity, he is threatening all the leaders who are close to her. He completely failed as the working president to lead the party.’ The clipping also claims that she said that she would continue her struggle from her Telangana Jagruti if she is blocked by the BRS party, and her father’s silence puts the future of lakhs of party activists in question. In this viral newspaper clipping, we can see “Telangana Scribe Digital” as the author.

Fact Check:
The claim is False. When we searched for Telangana Scribe, we did not find any news publication or any digital news outlet with such a name.
When we searched for any such recent comments by MLC Kavitha about her brother, we could not find any such comments by her. In fact, we found few news reports about her lashing out against Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for targeting opposition leaders with ulterior political motives. She said that the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) filing a case against BRS working president KT Rama Rao was “driven by vendetta”.
In the recent video report, we can see her lashing out the Telangana government for neglecting the guarantees made during the election campaign.
When we searched for the name of any newspaper registered under the name Telangana Scribe or Telangana Scribe Digital on the website of the Registrar of Newspapers for India, we found that no newspaper had been registered under these names.
