Fact Check: Viral video of child abduction at a railway station is scripted, not a real incident
A viral video claiming to show a child being abducted at Rajiv Chowk metro station in Delhi turned out to be a scripted video;

CCTV footage of a couple allegedly abducting a four-year-old boy from Jaipur railway station on March 14, 2025 had gone viral on social media. Upon receiving a report, the police examined the footage from the surveillance cameras installed at the station and arrested the couple from Mahuwa in Rajasthan’s Dausa district.
Last month, Delhi police arrested four individuals, including three women, for kidnapping three children from the New Delhi railway station and for their involvement in a child trafficking gang in the national capital. Later, the police traced the kidnappers and rescued two abducted children, including an infant in the operation.
Amidst the rising cases of child kidnapping, a video showing a child abduction at a railway station is being widely circulated on social media platforms, claiming, “a child was kidnapped from Rajiv Chowk metro station in broad daylight.” The viral post on X was captioned in Roman English ‘Kripya apne bachchon ko pal bhar ke liye bhi nazar se duur naa karen..In jese darinde apko har jagah milenge.’ (Please keep an eye on your children. Child kidnappers are on the prowl.)

Fact Check:
During the investigation, the Telugupost fact check team found the claim that a scripted video of a child abduction at a railway station is being passed off as a real incident.
To verify the claim, we extracted the keyframes of the viral video and ran them through Google Reverse Image Search tool. In the search results, we came across a post on Instagram with the caption dates March 23, 2025, “दिल्ली मेट्रो राजीव चौक की घटना ” [the incident occurred at Rajiv Chowk metro station, Delhi.]
The high quality video was found on an Instagram account (official_rajthakur__) with the text in the caption, ‘This Video Is Totally Scripted Not Real All Content Just For Entertainment Purpose And Awareness Not Hate Speech’
He’s posted the same video under YouTube Shorts here.
The original poster (OP), Raj Thakur has identified himself as a video creator from Delhi. He has posted similar scripted videos on other social media channels too.
