Fact Check: Video claiming dance performance by Sambalpur collector Ananya Das is MISLEADING
A video of a woman dancing to the tunes of the song “Mere Ghar Ram Aaye Hain” is being circulated widely with the claim that the woman seen in the video is the collector of Sambalpur, Odisha- Ms. Ananya Das.

The claim is False. The video does not show the Sambalpur collector.
When we searched social media using the keywords “Sambalpur collector Mrs. Ananya Das dance video”, we found a video published on a Facebook page with the caption “Dance video: Superb Dance performance by Sambalpur Collector Mrs. Ananya Das (IAS) is getting viral in Social media. But, Sambalpur Collector Mrs. Ananya Das (IAS) tweets that " Truly a good performance- sadly not mine " जय श्री राम ”
We also found the Twitter account of Ananya Das IAS, Collector, and DM, Sambalpur. She shared the viral video with the caption “Truly a good performance- sadly not mine”
When we extracted the keyframes from the viral video and searched it using Google reverse image search, we found that the video belongs to a YouTube channel named Mradula Mahajan.
We also found the dance video published on this channel with the title “Mere Ghar Ram easy dance Choreography #
The same video was also published on the Facebook and Instagram accounts. Her bio on Instagram states that she is a full-time mom, who loves dancing and cooking.
Therefore, the viral video of a dance performance to the song “Mere ghar Ram aaye hain” is not by Sambalpur Collector Ananya Das. The claim is False.
