Fact Check: Viral video of SRK dancing at people’s wedding post “Pathaan” release is false
Shahrukh Khan-starrer “Pathaan” has been at the centre of controversy for a while now. Amidst the row, a video allegedly showing Khan dancing at a wedding went viral on social media claiming that he performed at the wedding “for money” because he spent around Rs 500 crore on the film.

The video is being shared with the hashtag “Boycott Pathaan” and with the caption, “After blowing almost 500 crores on Pathan film, now at the age of 60, Shah Rukh Khan is dancing for money at people's weddings.”
FACT CHECK:
The team performed a reverse image search and found a video carrying the same visuals on YouTube. This longer version of the video was uploaded on a channel named ‘IBRAHIM QADRI’ on July 12, 2022. It is titled, “Ghunghte Mein Chanda Hai Phir Bhi Hai Phela SHAHRUKH KHAN IBRAHIM QADRI”. The video, at the time of writing this, was watched over 13 million times.
In the video, we can see a man named Ibrahim, who is a look-alike of Shahrukh Khan dancing at a wedding.
Ibrahim is known to make videos of himself dancing to SRK’s songs and his performances at various events. There are many news reports about him being the Bollywood actor’s Doppelganger.
However, this is not the first time Qadri has been mistaken for SRK. In October 2021, many shared videos allegedly showing Khan meeting his son Aryan post his arrest, nonetheless, in reality it featured Qadri and his friend Gufran Roomi.
With this, it is clear that the viral video does not show Bollywood actor SRK dancing at a wedding for money, post his expenditure on the film “Pathaan”. The claim is false.
