Fact Check: Viral video of high-altitude railway bridge shows visuals from China, not of River Chenab in India
A video of a high-altitude railway bridge with a train running on it is viral with a claim that it shows the highest railway track under construction on Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramula route on the Chenab river in Jammu and Kashmir.

In the video, we can see a high-altitude bridge connecting two mountains with a river running in the valley below.
Fact check:
The claim that the video shows a high-altitude bridge being constructed on the Chenab river is false.
While searching for the highest bridge on the Chenab river in Jammu Kashmir, we found that the first glimpses of the under-construction bridge were published on March 26, 2023, in several news reports.
According to these news reports, this bridge spans a height of 1,178 feet over the river.
According to Hindustan times, safety tests are being conducted on this bridge and will be completed by December 2023 or January 2024.
Through the reports, we could confirm that the bridge is still in the construction phase and is not operational yet.
When the image extracted from the video is searched using Google reverse image search, we found that the viral video is from the Beipanjiang railway bridge.
Images of the Beipanjiang bridge were published on several websites, including Wikimedia Commons and megaconstrucciones.net,
A website named highestbridges.com states that this bridge was opened in 2001 and is 275 meters high and 118 kilometers long, connecting Liupanshui and Baigao in Guizhou province of China.
We also found that the viral video of a train passing through the bridge is taken from the visuals of a video shared on a website ddpcp.cn. When compared, we found that the visuals match the viral video.
