Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, established by the Government of India, is the authorized body responsible for overseeing the construction of the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. The temple has received innumerable gifts and donations from Indians, including NRIs. Individuals can donate money online to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and help in construction of Ayodhya Ram Mandir. This donation made to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Trust will also make an individual eligible for tax deduction under Section 80G of the Income-tax Act, 1961, provided he/she chooses the old tax regime.
After the inauguration of the temple, the Ram Mandir received donations of nearly Rs 3 crore from devotees. As the news spread all over, to get more viewership, many digital creators and social media users shared a video with the caption Ram Lalla donation box overflowing on the first day.
Fact Check :
After careful observation on different social media accounts we found this claim is False. This video is from Sanwaliya Seth temple situated in Chittorgarh of Rajasthan state.
The official Instagram page of Sanwaliya sethi Ji uploaded the same video on December 16, 2023. Along with the video there are many details which are provided in the caption box. As per the post: “On 11 Dec 2023, we have open the donation box of Bhagwan Sanwaliya Seth, as per the counting we have received total 17crore 19Lakh 800 rupees along with 552GM of Gold Ornaments , 16Kg 670 Gm Silver from Bhandar & from Temple Trust Office Donation box 107Gm Gold & 40Kg 425 Gm 900Mg Silver received.
Nitin Vaishnav, who is the Mukhya Pujari (Chief Priest) of Sanwaliya Seth temple (as mentioned in his instagram bio), posted the same video on January 16, 2024.
As published in Lighthouse Journalism: We came across a video being widely shared on social media websites claimed to be of a donation box from Ram Mandir which is overflowing with money after the recent consecration ceremony. Upon investigation, it was found that the video is not from Ram Temple but from Shri Sanwaliya Seth Temple in Rajasthan.
